Micro-targeting

First, I will start presenting you what micro-targeting is.  Micro-targeting  is  a  marketing strategy  that uses consumer data and demographics to identify the interests of specific individuals or very small groups of like-minded individuals and influence their thoughts  or actions. This strategy is often used in politicals campaigns. They analyse what politician you're going to vote, and they  try to change your vote by sending you adverts of the other politicians promising things that aren't true.

I didn't know about this. I know that our phones are always listening to us and people can control all the things we do on the mobile phone. It's true that I knew that another marketing strategy is to see that for example you want to buy a watch, and they will start sending adverts of watches to buy their watch instead of another one.

It's a bit scary that they can see and control all your activities you do in social networks, but that's the bad thing this type of applications have! You leave the footprint of what you have done. So, please be careful and vote what you think you should vote and don't vote due to their promises or adverts.

Here you have a video that explains this concept very well:
